Candida Antibodies 3002 is a blood test that completes a semi-quantitative analysis of serum Candida antigen, in addition to IgG, IgA, and IgM antibodies specific for Candida.
An overgrowth of Candida can result in a fungal infection referred to as Candidiasis which covers a broad range of clinical signs and symptoms that encompass superficial, local and deep-seated infections.
Patients with conditions including trauma (infection), underlying diseases, immunodeficiencies, pregnancy, or malnutrition may benefit from testing.
Under certain conditions an overgrowth of Candida strains in the body may result in a fungal infection. The Candida Antibodies 3002 panel offers an analysis of serum Candida antigen, as well as the IgG, IgA and IgM antibodies specific for Candida.
The IgM antibodies are the first ones formed after exposure to a new infection, and when elevated, indicate a present infection. Whereas, increased levels of IgG antibodies predominantly demonstrate a past or ongoing infection. When IgA antibodies are high it may reflect a more superficial Candida infection.
